Who is Sommer-Savex A/S
We supply both standard and customer-specific hardwood and softwood items, edge-glued wood, veneer in fixed dimensions or peeled veneer, as well as veneered boards in fixed dimensions with a core of MDF, particle boards, or plywood.
Everything is delivered either fully or partially processed according to your needs and preferences for wood type and quality - including oak, beech, walnut, pine, and more.
In addition, we offer storage of the above products for our customers.
Our expertise is built on many years of experience with hardwood, softwood, veneers, boards, and logistics.
We are committed to quality and environmental responsibility, which is why all tasks are based on the use of the highest-quality wood - including both certified and non-certified species.
We also maintain a stock of approximately 2,000 m³ of kiln-dried wood, veneers, and veneered boards in various wood types, ready for immediate delivery.

Our Story
The company Sommer-Savex A/S was founded in 1961 by Egon Sommer, with its headquarters in Odense. Decades later, a generational shift occurred among the middle managers, and in 2016 the company was purchased by the current owner and CEO, Line Hjort. Due to a strong focus on product development from 2016 onwards, the number of employees grew from 5 to 14. Furthermore, a relocation became necessary in 2022 due to lack of space, and today the company is housed in modern premises with high storage capacity at Helge Nielsens Allé 7.4A in Løsning, located between Vejle and Horsens.
1961
The company was founded, with an assortment of hardwoods and veneers with all types of wood, which are sold in and outside Denmark.
2012
The focus shifted to fully or partially processed wood items, with the main focus on the furniture and kitchen industries.
2016
The company is sold to Line Hjort, who takes over the position of CEO.
2017
The product range is expanded with veneers and veneered panels on fixed dimensions.
2022
Due to lack of space, the company moved from Fyn to better facilities with modern facilities and a large warehouse in Løsning, Vejle.
2023
Softwood, as a product group, was established in order to be able to service new customer segments and markets.
2025
After a determined effort, we have developed the first of a series of new products and can now present both perforated plates and fire-retardant veneered plates with B-s1,d0 classification. The new products are aimed at new customer segments and markets where Sommer-Savex A/S will be found.
