Aspen trees saved by wolves

The death of one, the bread of the other. This is an old saying that can be used, with a little goodwill, about the situation in Yellowstone National Park, where American Aspen (Populus tremuloides) has for years lived a miserable existence because of the area's many wapiti deer.
